The tradition of straw gardens was included in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2023.
The Ethnoculture Center's hall fills the eye and heart with warmth and tranquility as one observes the straw garden compositions by traditional craft master Margarita Macijauskienė. In her 20th solo exhibition, the author's creative style is revealed through unique compositions and a variety of decorations.
In Margarita's straw gardens, you can see the waves of the lagoon, fishermen's nets full of fish, fields of poppies, church steeples, lovingly cooing birds - an endless fluttering of life between earth and sky.
